Installation
Even though this unit is completely portable, there are some things to think about as far as placement. It comes with a six foot power supply cord, so it must be placed within six feet of a 120v wall outlet. There’s a fan in the top of the diffuser that really helps disperse the fragrance cloud. The fan will also project the plume up toward a nearby smoke detector and possibly set it off. You also want to be aware of your HVAC outlets or air returns. Another thing to consider is the traffic pattern in the room. If you have a revolving door or a automatic door that’s constantly opening, it may tend to draw the fragrance out of the room.
On the back side, there is a handle at the top, which makes it easy to move around. At the bottom is the programming screen. Insert the key into the slot. A quarter turn will release the back panel cover. Remove the cover and set it aside.
Programming
Plug in the diffuser and turn the power on. First, set the current time. Press the Set button and you will see the hours flash. Keep in mind that the clock uses 24-hour, or military, time. Use the Up and Down buttons to set the hour. Press Set again to change the minutes. Press Set again to change the day of the week.
Press Mode to set Events. You’ll start with Event 1. Set the Time On using the Set and Up and Down buttons, just like you did to set the current time. Press Mode again to set the Time Off. Press Mode again to set the Work Time in seconds. Press Mode again to set the Pause Time. Press Mode again to go to the next event if you want. You can program up to four events.
Servicing
Before removing the bottle, put a cloth in the bottom of the chamber to catch any drips. Unscrew the bottle to add fragrance oil. Pour in only as much oil as you will use during the service period. If you keep adding to unused oil it tends to oxidize, and every month you get a diluted fragrance level. So fill the bottle up to the amount that you need and screw it back in. Replace the cover and lock it.
Air-Flow Tips
- Look for a place near air flow that will pull scent into the targeted space. If the diffuser is too close to return air vents or doors that open frequently, the scent will be pulled away in the wrong direction.
- One way gauge air flow is to start up a unit, carry it around your space (don’t tip it!), and watch the scent plume for movement. Backlighting the plume can help you see it better.
Maintenance
If the oils are not atomizing properly, you can check the batteries and run isopropyl alchohol through the unit for 5-10 minutes to clear any obstruction.
