Introduction
The D3500 Portable Digital Scent Diffuser is designed to provide a scent marketing background fragrance, as well as eliminate odors, in medium to large spaces. The D3500 can also be connected to central heating and air conditioning systems to provide scent marketing throughout your entire establishment. The D3500 unit is ideal for use in hotels, apartment communities, nursing homes and retail areas.
The D3500 portable diffuser is lightweight at only 7.5 pounds. It’s approximately 12in × 9in × 6in, and will cover 180,000 cubic feet. It comes with an external atomizer, a 500ml oil canister, keys for the panel cover, an instruction manual power adapter cord and tubing.
Setup, Service & Maintenance
The external 500ml fragrance oil canister is simply screwed to the edge of the unit and mounted in place. Unscrew the canister, fill with fragrance oil, and screw it back in. To install the tubing, you can install a three inch piece of tube for directional dispersal and a small tube connecting the atomizer to the diffuser unit itself.
We recommend servicing your D3500 a minimum of every four weeks, or a 28 day cycle. Before you refill the unit with fragrance oil, remove the existing canister, fill a spare 500ml canister or bottle with isopropyl alcohol, and atomize the alcohol for at least 300 seconds.
Programming
Plug in the diffuser and turn the power on. Open the control panel door with the provided key. Inside, you’ll find the LCD digital display. First, set the current time. Press the Set button and you will see the hours flash. Keep in mind that the clock uses 24-hour, or military, time. Use the Up and Down buttons to set the hour. Press Set again to change the minutes. Press Set again to change the day of the week.
Press Mode to set Events. You’ll start with Event 1. Set the Time On using the Set and Up and Down buttons, just like you did to set the current time. Press Mode again to set the Time Off. Press Mode again to set the Work Time in seconds. Press Mode again to set the Pause Time. Press Mode again to go to the next event if you want. You can program up to four events.
A typical setting is to start at 4:00AM and end at midnight, with a work cycle of 150 seconds, pausing for 300 seconds. For use in a hotel setting to eliminate any residual odors that may have occurred in a guest room, we recommend 300 seconds on, and a pause time of only 10 seconds.
The D3500 unit is safe for your housekeeping and employee staff to use and be around. The fragrance oil is nontoxic, non-sensitizing, and biodegradable. It eliminates any unwanted odors and imparts a background fragrance of your choice.
Air-Flow Tips
- Look for a place near air flow that will pull scent into the targeted space. If the diffuser is too close to return air vents or doors that open frequently, the scent will be pulled away in the wrong direction.
- One way gauge air flow is to start up a unit, carry it around your space (don’t tip it!), and watch the scent plume for movement. Backlighting the plume can help you see it better.
Maintenance
If the oils are not atomizing properly, you can check the batteries and run isopropyl alchohol through the unit for 5-10 minutes to clear any obstruction.
