New Service Location: Honolulu, HI

It is very interesting to hear the stories throughout the Aire-Master system of how franchisees and employees came to be involved in the business. Each story shows the power of relationships over our 54 year history. Our newest franchise, Aire-Master of Honolulu, is a great example.

In the mid 1980s, Graeme and Vivienne Flexman left their home and friends in New Zealand, traveled across the world to the United States, and started an Aire-Master franchise. Since then, the Flexmans have contributed to Aire-Master by starting additional franchises, as well as working in our corporate divisions. It was in Eugene, Oregon, that the Flexmans met the Lawther family. Lopaka Lawther and his brother, Kawika, were small children at the time, and they became friends with the Flexmans’ son, Mike.

Over the years, Lopaka and Kawika have kept in contact with Mike, who works with Graeme in Aire-Master of Arizona. It is through Mike that they learned more about Aire-Master as a potential business opportunity. Aire-Master of Honolulu is now the first AM franchise off the US/ Canada mainland. We want to congratulate Lopaka and Kawika on their investment of time to work out the logistics of opening the first Aire-Master franchise in Hawaii.

Most of Aire-Master’s franchises have started this way — not through marketing campaigns, but through people and their trusted relationships with each other. Aire-Master has built a market-leading brand through trusted relationships with our customers.

We now have 86 individual franchise locations, with 4 company-owned locations. Only ten more to reach 100!

2012 Adopt-A-Class Program

Nixa, MO, Adopt-A-Class 2012

Aire-Master has been participating in the Adopt-A-class school program as part of the Nixa Chamber of Commerce since its inception in 1998. This school year, Aire-Master partnered with Mrs. Rauch’s and Mr. Snowden’s 5th grade classes at Inman Intermediate School in Nixa, Missouri. Each month students were introduced to products and services as part of Aire-Master’s training program, called Stinkie University. This school-to-work partnership helped students learn how Aire-Master helps businesses solve their commercial hygiene needs.

Students learned about the sense of smell, deodorants and perfumes, deodorant products vs. air fresheners, hand soaps and sanitizers, odor control and scent branding. Each class participated in hands-on projects such as graphing fragrance evaporation, handwashing to eliminate the spread of germs, colds vs the flu, battery and motor testing, hand soaps vs hand sanitizers, and insect control.

On April 25, the 2012 Adopt-A-Class program culminated with a site visit to Aire-Master of America’s corporate offices and manufacturing facility in Nixa. Students were able to manufacture their own hand sanitizer through the use of math and science. They calculated the formulas, selected fragrances, and color and mixed ingredients to produce a finished product for each class.  Each student graduated from Stinkie University with a degree in “Odorology” — the science of gettin’ rid of those funky little stinks.

Control Flies in Your Business

Insect InnWhen the weather gets warm, here come the flies. Flies visit dumpsters, sewers, and garbage areas, feeding on all sorts of moist, decaying matter. House flies are suspected of transmitting at least 65 diseases to humans. Nobody likes to see flies buzzing around, especially customers and health inspectors.

Aire-Master can help make any fly problem manageable by using a combination of safe, effective insect control products to establish a line of defense against the vile offenders. We offer a simple monthly service that will create a no-fly zone in your establishment.
